Recorded in 2020 in an attempt to face down a particularly inescapable loop of destructive mental illness made all the more undefeatable by the fact I was surrounded by people who not only couldn't understand, but couldn't care less. The closer they were, the further I was away...

A problem not only nearly a billion people worldwide face in some way on a daily basis, but most of which begin in childhood, left unnoticed and untreated, silently growing into the monster it will one day become. A child of the '70s, when such topics were either unknown or ignored, this was my origin story as well...

Think how different it could have been if those around you knew. If you could have told someone. Someone who could possibly understand. If you could get help. Help that could change the course of your life.

Child Mind Institute (childmind.org), an organization which takes no funding from the pharmaceutical industry, seeks to make this a reality. To start the healing when it begins to hurt. In young people who still have time to change if given the chance – and the means to do so. With mental health services already expensive or difficult to obtain for so many adults around the world with ordinary means, poor and disadvantaged children are left even further behind in line... a line most never even see the end of from where they stand.

100% of everything from this album will be donated to Child Mind Institute, through which every $75 will subsidize the treatment of a child who would otherwise be unable to receive care – a difference that can literally last a lifetime.

It may be too late for some of us.

But it's not too late for all of us.
